Lamar "Marty" E. Ward

Lamar Edward Ward (Marty), of Middleburg, FL passed away peacefully on Jan 15th, 2023 in Middleburg, FL surrounded by his loving wife, family, and friends.

He was born to his mother Levene McSwain and father Edwin Lamar Harris on Jan 8th, 1960 in Jacksonville, FL. He was raised between South Ga and North FL along with his brother Danny Ward, and Sisters Donna McSwain and Terri McSwain. As a child Marty and his family would travel across the country in their station wagon to see the United States. 

He met the love of his life Tammy Marie Edenfield when they were teenagers, and they were married April 9th, 1981 and in her words it was your typical shotgun wedding. Together they had 3 children Brad, Tuesday, and Shelley. He worked many different jobs over the years from a cook on tugboat, to various positions at different warehouses, to working his way up to a department supervisor at Kinco windows and doors until his accident.

In the early 90’s he and his family were led to the Lord. From then on his life would center around The Lord, church and his family. Though Marty had a long fight with sickness and a hard journey after being disabled, he trusted the Lord with his life and he lived for him to the best of his ability. He loved his family, and most especially his grandkids.

He is preceded in death by his mother Levene McSwain and father Edwin Lamar Harris.

He is survived by his wife of 41yrs Tammy Marie Ward, son: Bradley Lamar Ward, daughters: Tuesday Marie Snowden (Mitchell), Shelley Odessa Jeffers (Matt). 9 Grandchildren: Nathan Snowden, Noah Snowden, Naomi Snowden, Eli Jeffers, Grayson Ward, Bentley Ward, Clayton Ward, Paisley Jeffers, and Madilyn Ward.

Visitation will be held at Clay Hill Church of God, 5075 C.R. 218 Middleburg, Fl. 32068 on Monday January 23rd at 10:00-11:00 a.m. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jeff Crawley Officiating. Interment will follow at Peoria Cemetery.
