Larry Douglas Adams was born November 1, 1939, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He died on December 22, 2022, after just entering hospice near his home in Middleburg, FL.
After graduating from Spartanburg High School, where he played basketball and football, he attended Mars Hill College in N.C., studying Business Administration. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the US Air Force. After honorable discharge, he entered the employ of S.S. Kresge Company (became Kmart Corp) where he spent the majority of his career. He lived in Florida, Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas, Ohio, Maryland, North Carolina, Mississippi, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
He was a member of the Alhambra Shrine, Chattanooga, Tennessee and the Columbus Lodge, Columbus, MS. An avid sports fan and FSU supporter, he was a former President of the Clay County Seminole Club, Clay County, Florida.
Faith was very important to him, and he was a member of St. Giles Presbyterian Church in Orange Park, FL.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years Dorothy Adams, son Andrew S. Adams (Tara), granddaughter Kinsley G. Adams, grandson Bryson K. Adams, brother-in-law Richard E. Sample (Connie), and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial service to be held February 11th, 2023, at 11:00am at St. Giles Presbyterian Church, Orange Park, FL.
