Lawrence “Larry” James of Orange Park, Florida passed away on September 18, 2019. He was born on March 6, 1949 in Paterson, New Jersey to the late Harold and Louise (Card) James. He graduated from Pequannock Township High School in 1967 then joined the Navy and served thru January 1975. He worked many years as an over the road truck driver and later worked as a service manager for a couple car dealerships. His past time included racing cars and building model airplanes. He was also a Jacksonville Jaguars fan.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Louise James. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Brenda Trahan James; sons, Eric (wife Misty) and Terry (wife Alex); stepson, Guy Gautreaux and stepdaughter, Michelle Gautreaux; one sister, Barbara James Ellison and one brother, Robert “Bob” James. He has 5 grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, September 28, 2019 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel. The family will receive friends at 1:30pm and show a video tribute of his life. In lieu of flowers donations to the Parkinson’s Foundation (https://www.parkinson.org/ ) in Larry’s honor is much appreciated.
