Linda Eloise Calloway

October 1, 1946 — September 6, 2020

Linda Eloise Calloway, will be remembered as the “Best Wife, Mom and Nanny ever.”

She passed away Sunday, Sept. 6, 2020 at the age of 73.

Linda was born to parent’s CH and Hester Hysmith, Oct. 1, 1946, in Spartanburg, SC. She was married for 55 years to Richard Calloway who preceded her in death in 2018. He was waiting at the gates of Heaven to welcome her home.

Linda will be forever remembered by:

Her children, Todd Calloway, Kevin Calloway, Tina Calloway and grandchildren Josh Calloway and Sawyer Calloway who were loved unconditionally by the best Mom & Nanny and loudest cheerleader anyone could ask for.

Daughter in-law Michelle Calloway. Immediate family Buddy & Darlene McMillin, Ricky Hysmith, Lynn Hysmith, and Beverly Hysmith.

In-laws Jerry & Gloria Calloway, Sue & Keith Kemp, Karen McCarter, Donna Calloway and Jim Scott. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who love her dearly.

Linda was a caregiver among all else. She believed in southern hospitality, making sure you were served and happy before ever thinking about herself. She was the one who always ate a cold meal because she was more concerned with you eating a hot meal. She was a giver and gave the best of herself every time. She had a way of doing things and her way was the right way and I would say 99.9% of the time her way was the best way, lol.

She loved her family fiercely and she was one momma bear you did not dare cross. She was a strong woman and excelled at everything, whether being the fastest cashier at Winn-Dixie, being the most sought-after bet taker at the dog track, the home run hitter for her adult softball team - when she came up to bat the other teams would say “back up, back up”, she was an intense game night competitor with a few choice words when people didn’t get what she was saying, she was the Christmas décor queen and the list goes on and on. But we come back to what she excelled at the most and that would be a CAREGIVER. She made our house a home for anyone and everyone. She welcomed you with open arms and gave of herself unconditionally and was only happy if you were. She truly was the most selfless person our family knew, she gave to others without looking for personal gain.

She is unforgettable and will be missed each and every day.

A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Please join us as we celebrate the life of Linda.
