Linda B. Leggett, 64, of Orange Park, FL passed away Sunday, March 10, 2019 from complications related to Kidney Disease. Her sisters, Patricia and Lynn, were at her side. She was born to parents, Charlotte and Riley Boyer, in Port Hueneme, CA. Having been born into a Military (USN) family, she traveled across the United States until 1966 when the family settled in Jacksonville, FL. Linda graduated from Nathan B. Forrest High School in 1972. She was active in the A Cappela Choir and often led her sisters in impromptu Folk Songs and Gospel Hymns around the house and during road trips with the family. In 1973, she graduated from the Orange Park Beauty Academy. Linda actively worked as a Cosmetologist until she retired in 2004. Linda met, fell in love and eloped to marry Ray Leggett. Their son Keith was born in 1975 and together they made their home in Orange Park. Linda enjoyed bowling, board games, cards, Family Steak Nights, wrestling, beaches, pools and kids. It was a great joy for her to watch the children of family and friends grow up and have children of their own. She never met a stranger and her generous, kind spirit and compassion will always be remembered.
She was preceded in death by her brother, William Michael Boyer; husband, Ray Keith Leggett; mother, Charlotte Forest and step-father, Jerome D. Forest.
She is survived by her son, Ray Keith Leggett, Jr.; sisters, Lynn Hutton (Frank) and Patricia Boyer; step-brother, John T. Forest; Step-sisters, Holly Forest Keith (Jeff) and Jennifer Flanagan (Earl); nephews, Matt Hutton (Stephanie) and Adam Boyer (Amber), and all the beautiful nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces, cousins and relatives of the Boyer, Leggett and Forest Families. She loved you all.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, March 30, 2019 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with August Chasey officiating.
