Lisa Edenfield Sutherland

Lisa Edenfield Sutherland, 57, of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away on February 9, 2022 in Jacksonville, FL.  Lisa was born on September 30, 1964 to Melburn L. Carter, Sr. and Mary Edenfield Carter.  Lisa graduated from Clay High School in 1982.

Lisa worked for the Clay County School Board for 24 years in the cafeteria where she was a cafeteria manager for 17 years at Charles E. Bennett Elementary School.  She loved every child she came in contact with and became friends with Mrs. Shalon who Lisa said she couldn’t have made it through some workdays without her.  Lisa was known for her big heart and love for her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Melburn L. Carter, Sr. and her daughter, Shannon Smyth.

Lisa is survived by her husband of 37 years, John Sutherland; daughter, Jessica Batton (David); mother, Mary Carter; brother, Melburn “Billy” Carter, Jr. (Amy); sister, Robin Husted (Randy); grandchildren, Mackenzi Batton, Cameron Smyth, Laila Batton, Jonathan Smyth, Macy Smyth and Emery Batton; along with aunts and uncles who loved her dearly; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 10:00am to 11:00am on Friday, February 18, 2022 at Shiloh Baptist Church.  Funeral services will start at 11:00am with Pastor Leon Edenfield and Pastor Glenn Tillis officiating.  Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery.
