LOUELLA CAMPBELL OLSEN CALVINPassed peacefully into her Lord’s care on 06/23/2017, at age 99. She was born in Donegal, PA to Chester and Olive Campbell as the fifth child of ten. She is the last surviving of her siblings. After moving to Miami as a young nanny, she met and married Norman M Olsen and they had three children: Terry Olsen of Ramrod Key, FL, Burma Olsen Habeck of Fleming Island, FL, and Timothy Olsen(deceased).She was later married to Dale D. Calvin, until his passing 28 years later.Dale had one daughter Joyce Clayton. Between them they had eight grandsons and twelve great-grandchildren.Over the years Louella supported the Miami Dolphins and Miami Hurricanes Baseball by loyally attending games. She proudly bowled on numerous bowling leagues until age 95. She always made crafts for sale. After retirement, she made detailed handmade quilts that she sold at craft fairs around Miami.Louella had a great love for her church. Over the years she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, was Sunday School Superintendent, President of Lutheran Church Women, ran the Craft Fair yearly, folded the monthly newsletters and baked cookies for 21 years for the homeless at Camilla House. She was awarded the Golden Rose for her dedicated life of service. She was a long time Elkette at Lodge #948 on Sunset Dr. Her personal joy was derived from working in her yard raising pineapples, bananas, orchids, and anything that would grow with her care. She will be remembered by all whose lives she touched for her strength of character, her faith in her Lord, her never ending work ethic and her tireless energy.A Memorial Celebration for Louella will be held at 10:30am at Christ the King Lutheran Church at 11295 SW 57 Ave, Pinecrest, FL 33156 on Saturday August 5, 2017.Interment will be at Christ the King Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Hospice of Orange Park, FL or Christ the King Church in memory of Louella Olsen Calvin.
