Lucy Elaine Hallman O’Neal Moss, age 79, died on October 8, 2021 in Orange Park, Florida.
Elaine was that rare lifelong-Floridian, born in Jacksonville in 1941 to Fred Hallman, Sr. and Letha Mae Adkins Hallman. She graduated from Ribault High School and went on to earn a nursing degree from Florida Community College of Jacksonville. She served with distinction as a Registered Nurse for 40 years. In that time, she ministered to those who were hospitalized, to victims of Hurricane Andrew, and to Clay County children, families, and residents. She retired from the Clay County Health Department as Assistant Supervisor of Nursing.
Determined to live life to its fullest, Elaine traveled the world, experiencing first-hand the many wonders to be enjoyed throughout Europe and the Middle East. She enjoyed sharing those experiences with close family and friends.
Elaine was preceded in death by her father and mother and by her children Rina and Barry. She is survived by her husband, William Moss, Jr.; her daughters Kimberly Barker (Vic), and Shannon Lightcap; and her grandchildren Stephanie Barker, and Logan Lightcap; and by her sister, Diane.
A private family service for Elaine will be held graveside at Evergreen Cemetery in Jacksonville on Friday, October 15, 2021 at 11:00 AM. She will be laid to rest alongside her babies, Rina and Barry, who she looked forward to meeting in heaven.
