Malicia D. Pyles

March 23, 1924 — November 24, 2017

Malicia D. Pyles, 93, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away November 24, 2017.  She was born on March 23, 1924 in Haysi, VA to parents Willoughby and Maridia Deel.  She moved to the local area in 1972 from Ohio and operated a fruit and vegetable stand in Green Cove Springs.  She was a member of Little Ruth Old Regular Baptist Church and enjoyed crocheting, gardening, fishing as well as playing Chinese Checkers and Yahtzee.  She will be dearly missed by her family and friends that she loved so much. She was preceded in death by her parents;her husband, James Pyles and her son, Richard Pyles.  Survivors include her children, Carolyn Cornwell, Becky and husband Mike Miracle, Ruth and husband Marty Kennett, Delphine Danielson, Margaret Peacock, Polly and husband Eric Graham and Christy and husband John Fowler; brothers Howard and Vadie Deel; sisters, Martha Rice and Doshie Ratliff; 25 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, December 1, 2017 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Elder Terry Fuller officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until service time.  Interment will follow in Little Ruth Cemetery.
