Margaret DeWever Hennigar at the age of 78, went to be with the Lord on Christmas Day after a long battle with Alzeheimers. She was a resident of Hagan Memory Care Assisted Living at Penney Retirement Community, Penney Farms, Florida.
She was born on November 30, 1944 in Brunswick, Maine to Laura Knapp and James DeWever. She was known as Sue to her friends and as Mimi to her grandchildren. She graduated from Scarborough High School and became a dedicated homemaker. She enjoyed golfing, boating, camping, travel and knitting prayer shawls. During her retirement years she enjoyed time with her grandchildren and RV traveling the US and Canada with her husband.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, James W Hennigar of Penney Farms, Fl; daughter, Gloria Dean of Madison, Maine (spouse Steven Dean) and son Robert Hennigar(spouse Tosha Hennigar) of Jacksonville, Fl. four grandchildren: Erika Dean of Skowhegan, Maine; Jessica Parker(spouse Jeremy Parker), Madison, Maine; Kurt Hennigar and Alyssa Hennigar of Jacksonville, Fl and great-granddaughter Layla Parker of Madison, Maine.
She will be remembered as a most kind and caring person with a very strong faith that had a positive influence on her family though two generations.
Private services will be held in the near future. In lieu of flowers: Penney Retirement Community in Penney Farms, Florida was a blessing to her during her battle with Alzeheimers.
