Marie Elizabeth McAllister

Marie Elizabeth McAllister of Middleburg, Florida passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at 9:30am.  Born on February 25, 1933. Marie was blessed to live to be 90 and ½ years old!  She’s now with her husband, Daniel James McAllister who left us on July 22, 2017.

Marie was a loving and devoted mother to her children:  Daniel James Jr (Wife Donna), Dianne (Husband Gary), David, Donna (Husband Robert), Delores (Husband Joe), and Darlene (Husband Randy).  She cherished her role as Grandma to:  Sandy, Daniel III, Kristen, Tanya, Ashley, Jasmine, Brittany, Zachary, and Bailey.  She was also blessed to be called Great Grandma by:  Kaylee, Braydon, Avery, Cheyenne, Kaylee, Remi, JoJo and Laine.

Marie worked hard in factories all her adult life, and despite her long work days, she rarely failed to provide us with a home cooked meal each and every day. Our friends were always welcomed and of course, the first thing she did to anyone who walked through her door was to feed them. She was an avid football fan and loved her Pittsburg Steelers – you didn’t dare get between her and her terrible towel unless you were prepared to get snapped with it!

She retired when they moved from cold Michigan to sunny Florida.  An animal lover, she adopted a feral expecting cat….that soon increased to over 20 at any given time.  She named each one and loved them all.  

Marie was an angel on earth, now she is an angel in heaven!  

A Celebration of her life will be scheduled in the months to come.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your local animal shelter.
