Marilyn Joyce Mckale

Marilyn Joyce (DeNise) McKale, formerly of Piqua, died on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Palagio Senior Living in Orange Park, Florida. Marilyn was born in Sidney, Shelby County, Ohio on October 14, 1934 to the late Harold Calvin and Alice Ethel (Proctor) DeNise. She was a graduate of Piqua Central High School class of 1952 and a member of the marching band.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband Richard “Dick” Lee McKale who passed away March 9, 2006. To this union were born two daughters and four sons: Debra McMahan of Nashville, TN, Kathryn McKale who preceded her in death July 3, 2021, Mark McKale (Debra) of Orange Park, Florida, John McKale of North Palm Beach, Florida, Kevin McKale of Orlando, Florida and Michael McKale (Caroline) of Jupiter, Florida. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Jason (Jennifer) McMahan, Corina (Blake) Newton, Diana (Matthew) Dowdle, Erin (Kevin Sr.) Handley, Freddie (Kara) Brush, Cory (Joani) Robinson, Scott (Britney) McMahan and Sean McKale, eighteen great grandchildren; Nathan Norris, Jailyn Mac-Handley, Ava McMahan, Ben Newton, Kevin Handley Jr., Kiarra Handley, Chloe Newton, Alona McMahan, Paige Robinson, Katelyn Brush, Jude Dowdle, Alyson Brush, Bella McMahan, Payden Robinson, Samuel Dowdle, Drew McMahan, Madelyn Brush, and Lillian McMahan, one great-great granddaughter; Jovie Sanders. Marilyn was preceded in death by her only sibling, William DeNise.

Marilyn was a successful real estate agent with Carol Bollo & Associates in Trenton Michigan. Upon relocation to Tequesta, Florida she enjoyed being actively involved with the Palm Beach Furniture Company of which her husband Richard was president. After moving to The Villages in Lady Lake, Florida she again practiced real estate sales and flourished as a sales agent with The Villages Sales and Information Center. Her hobbies included cooking, knitting, reading, genealogy, as well as sewing and reupholstering furniture. Marilyn and Dick enjoyed trips to the beach and were particularly fond of Clearwater Beach.

In 1965 Marilyn converted to the Catholic Faith and was Baptized in St. Lawrence Church in Lafayette, Indiana, and she remained a faithful and devout Catholic throughout the remainder of her life.

Arrangements are pending for a Memorial Mass which will be celebrated in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Piqua, Ohio. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
