Mark V. Stanley

December 30, 1962 — May 30, 2020

Mark V. Stanley born December 30, 1962 Gainesville Fl, passed away May 30th at his home in Green Cove Springs, Fl of natural causes. He was 57. He is survived by his wife, Becky of 29 years, his father Jack Stanley, his brother Scott Stanley (Cindy) and sister, Shawn Beecher and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by mother, Mary Ann Stanley and precious angel, daughter Bonnie Stanley. Mark was the owner of C & H Marine Construction which he recently sold after 40 years of building it into one of the premier marine construction companies in Northeast Florida. Mark started at C& H as an hourly employee and worked his way to that ownership position. He was also employed part time with UPS for 36 + years and had the longest tenure as a part time employee in the Jax area. Mark was not afraid of work. Mark graduated from Orange Park High School in 1981 were he was a member of the Football and Wrestling teams. He received an AA from Florida Junior College in 1984.

Mark was a true family man. As a child, his family always had fun camping, did everything together, including the River Run. He found joy in hosting the family reunions and was the glue that kept everyone together. He had close ties in the community. Through the years he had many charitable organizations (boy scouts, Clay County Animal shelter) and local sports teams of which he contributed. He was an annual sponsor at the Clay county fair. He was very patriotic and loved southern history. He loved all neighbors and had many extended family. All knew he was a man of his word and you can count on him. He had a generous heart. He was caring and always found ways to help others. When Mark decided to do something, he went all in. He enjoyed sitting out over the river with the dogs and admiring God’s beauty. His brother always said: “He loved his family, boats and bikes, in that order”. He was the glue that kept everyone together. He hosted a family reunion at his house every year on Labor Day weekend. This would last for 3 days and included extended family and friends. Mark’s favorite part was when the band played Rocky Top and he could get out on the dance floor and Buck Dance with his uncles and cousins. He started out as a Gator Fan but after meeting Becky he quickly moved to the other side and became a FSU Seminole. Mark cared deeply for his in laws, helping when he could and going on Thanksgiving trips. Mark Stanley touched a lot of people in very positive ways and will always be remembered that way. His motto was “Go out and do something nice for someone every day”..
