Mary Katherin Buckhalter “Cathy”, age 70, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2019 surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born on April 7, 1949 in Green Cove Springs, Florida to Virgil and Eula Mae Moody in her Granny Daniels’ house. She was married to the love of her life, Roy Buckhalter for 51 years. They went on to have two beautiful daughters who blessed her with three precious grandkids.
She loved her family of coworkers at Clay County Environmental Services where she was employed for many years before retirement. She loved the Lord and was a member of Sharon Baptist Church.
She had a love for family, gardening and her animals, which she lovingly cared for. She was best known for her delicious cooking. “Oh, by the way here is the recipe for my oh so loved Collard Greens, a handful of hugs, a dash of kindness, a spoonful of laughter, and a heap of love. Did you really think that I would give away my precious recipe?”
Her life was a living example of being caring, giving, and loving to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her father, mother and brother, Reuben Moody.
Cathy is survived by her husband Roy; daughters, June (Toby) Grubbs and Rhonda (Steve) Vojnik; her grandchildren, Tyler Grubbs, Jada Reeves, and Caden Vojnik; her sisters, Shirley (Eddie) Gay, Barbara (Dennis) Wright, Linda (Billy) Williams, Margaret Moody; her brother, Fate Moody and all of her many nieces and nephews, all who she loved and touched deeply.
