Mary Jane Pittman

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mom, Mary Jane Pittman. After a courageous battle with Cancer, her Savior called her home on July 8, 2024. She peacefully passed away in the comfort of her home.

Mary Jane Pittman was born on March 6, 1946, to Clyde and Myrle West in Solana Beach, California. In 1966 she married the love of her life, Talmadge Elton Pittman, with whom she shared a long love story characterized by unwavering commitment, boundless laughter, a heartfelt service to others, and many cherished memories. Mary Jane was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother, all her favorites. Her family was her life. They brought her immense love, joy, and fun.

Mary Jane’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. This was evident in her unwavering commitment to sharing her life changing testimony with others as she ministered to the homeless, abused, sick, and broken people Jesus placed in her path. She was a fierce prayer warrior for her family and friends.

As we say goodbye to Mary Jane in this life let us carry on her legacy of love, compassion, joy, laughter, and unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. May she continue to inspire us to live with great purpose, serve others unselfishly, and embrace each moment with gratitude and joy. She had a few mottos in life, “If you ain’t having fun than you’re doing something wrong!”, “Laugh at yourself, laugh until your sides hurt, and have fun until you are exhausted!”, “Dance in the rain!”, “Wear your favorite color because you are fearfully and wonderfully made, Psalm 139:14.” May her light forever shine brightly in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Mary Jane is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Talmadge Elton Pittman; her children, Allen Pittman (Valerie), Kimberly Goeller (Bill), Talmadge Pittman Jr. (Anne); her 9 grandchildren, Allen Jr. (Amber), Samantha (Cody), Raquel, Jessica (Jon), Andrew (Brianna), Rachel, Jonathan, Zoey, and Alexander; her 4 great-grandchildren, Aryian, Alek, Natalie, and Matthew; her sisters, Sandy Wilson and Loretta Fleishner, and her sister-in-law, Sandra West.
