Mary Ellen Stombaugh

Mary Ellen Stiffler Walls Stombaugh, 85, of Ellenton, Florida, passed away at home on Thursday, October 19, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Stombaugh was born in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, and had lived in Florida since the late 1980s. She was a wonderful homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She loved to read, dance, shop, go to the beach, and spend time with her family. Mary’s love for “everything tiger” built an eclectic collection of trinkets, toys, stuffies and souvenirs over her lifetime. 

Most all Mary’s family passed before her: Robert F. Walls, Sr. in 1983; Jerry L. Stombaugh, in 2022; Robert F. Walls, Jr. in 2021; her parents and 6 siblings.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Tami Walls Seaton (Craig); Kimberly Walls Ruffalo; Cindy Stombaugh Spitler (Brian); sons, Richard Stombaugh (Edie) and Steve Stombaugh (Toni); her sister, Janet Woods of Hollidaysburg, PA, and many beautiful grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Mary will be missed by all who loved her.

Funeral services are private, and interment will be in Alto Reste Cemetery, Altoona, PA at a later date.
