Max Edward Lovell, beloved husband, father, grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home in Green Cove Springs, on November 25, 2024, at the age of 88. Max was born on July 25, 1936, in Braggs, Oklahoma, to Dee Wayne Lovell and Juanita Starr Lovell.

Max graduated from Holy Family Catholic School in Tulsa, where he completed his education in 1954. His dedication to service and country led him to enlist in the United States Navy, where he served honorably from 1955 to 1978. A Vietnam War veteran, Max served from 1967 to 1969 and was awarded several commendations, including the Good Conduct Medal, Special Service Medal, and the Republic of Vietnam Medal.

On May 28, 1958, Max married Wynema Trammell, and together they shared a life filled with love, hard work, and family. In addition to his military service, Max worked as an electronics technician for the Clay County School Board in the maintenance department from 1978 to 2002. He was also deeply involved in his community, dedicating many years as the head umpire for the Green Cove Springs Athletics Association, where he worked with the girl’s youth softball teams. He was also a Boy Scout leader Pack 577, always ready to lend a helping hand or share his wisdom.

A dedicated family man, Max was known for his unwavering commitment to taking care of and providing for his loved ones.

Max had a lifelong passion for model airplanes and spent countless hours building and perfecting his models. He was also a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys. A proud member of the Cherokee Nation, Max was deeply connected to his heritage and took pride in being a part of his community.

Max was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Ruth Staires, Joyce Cates, Walter Lovell, and Louticia Lovell. He is survived by his beloved wife, Wynema, and their children: Maxella “Maxie” Lynn Gregory (Jim), Felicia Kellogg (James), and Pauletta "Paula" Davis (Mark). He leaves behind five cherished grandchildren: Jeremy Lovell, Jennifer Bliss (Jesse), Brandon Kellogg, Mark Davis Jr., and Kevin Gregory, as well as three great-grandchildren: Kayla Bliss, Dalton Kellogg, and Mason Kellogg.

Max's legacy lives on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, and his love for his country and family.
