Melissa Marie Crier

Melissa Marie Crier, 50, lovingly known as Missie, of St. Augustine, FL went home to be with her Lord and Savior unexpectedly on November 30, 2020.  She was born in Niskayuna, NY on a beautiful autumn Sunday to Donald Crier and Alycia (Lee) Sartin Crier.  Her family moved to Florida when Missie was nine where she attended Trinity Christian Academy and Duval Public Schools.  In her younger years Missie swam for the Argyle Swim Team and was also a student of ballet.  As a young adult she excelled in the weight loss business and so enjoyed helping people reach their goals.  Later in her life that passion carried over into caregiving for the elderly.  Additionally, she had a talent for home décor and quite a flare for fashion.  Missie was extremely handy doing household projects which resulted in her homes always reflecting her personality.  She definitely exhibited the southern lifestyle of hospitality, such a giving heart and never met a stranger.  Missie was an excellent cook and was always preparing delicious meals and desserts for her special neighbors, Gwen and Norma.  She would bake cookies with the little girls across the way (the three V’s) and would always have special treats and gifts for them.  Her longtime friends, Marne Chergi and Tonya Seely, were very special in her life and were always there to give advice, assist her or just to have fun.

Missie was a lover of the water and would spend countless hours at the beach, pool and hot tub.  Her neighbors would comment that on many occasions they would see her walking in the rain which brought her joy and peace.  She loved the Lord and spoke of how much she enjoyed reading her Joyce Myers Bible, sharing scripture and doing Bible studies with her dear neighbor, Lynn Baker.  Evangel Temple Assembly of God, in Jacksonville, was her home church where she followed the Lord in water baptism and would attend whenever possible.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Colon W. Sartin and Jeanne Downing Sartin and paternal grandparents, George Crier and Antoinette Mucci Crier.

Missie is survived by her mother, Alycia M. Crier; father, Donald G. Crier (Gwenda, step-sisters, Tina Land and Brandi Land Quinlan (Michael); brothers, Jason, Jonathan and Jacob Crier; sisters, Heather Crier, Rachel Crier Nelson (Bruce) and Rebekah Crier Zehnder; aunt, Patricia Snyder (Kevin) and numerous nieces and nephews.

She will be greatly missed by so many but her light continues to shine in our hearts as she now rests eternally in the arms of her Heavenly Father.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, December 18, 2020 at the Evangel Temple Assembly of God with Pastor Garry Wiggins officiating.
