Merrill “Glen” Stephenson, 83, of Keystone Heights, Florida passed on March 6, 2025.
Glen was born to the late Christine L. Pohlman and the late Merrill G Stephenson Sr. on April 15, 1941. As a Master Sergeant (retired) of the United States Air Force, Glen was a proud American and devoted his life to service to the United States. During his time in the Air Force and as a civilian contractor, Glen acted as a watchful eye on the skies, protecting the United States from foreign military aircraft intrusion. During his tenure, he operated technology across many theaters, including Japan, Alaska, and throughout the United States. As a proud father and grandfather, Glen’s impact on his family cannot be understated or adequately described.
In life, Glen was a fisherman, an explorer, a bit mischievous, but a family man first. He enjoyed rooting for the Florida Gators, the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Ironton Tigers and “going to gamble”. It brought solace to his family knowing that he left the world exactly how he would have wanted to, with a wad of cash in his pocket.
Glen is preceded in death by his wife Janet Kay Stephenson. He is survived by his daughter Glenda (Morgan) Smith, Grandchildren Sean (Alex) Bowles, Cody (Cian) Snelgrove, Lillian (Zach) Nindl, and Great-grandchildren Paislei, Avery, Michael and Dean. As well as his brother, David (Liz) Stephenson.
There will be a private service where the United States Air Force Honor Guard will present his well-deserved honors.
