Michael Alan Bates

Michael Alan Bates, 48, of Orange Park, FL passed away on May 30, 2018.  He was born on June 9, 1969 in Cranston, Rhode Island to parents Richard and Lynda (Bodie) Bates.  Michael came to the area in 2005 from Palm Beach, FL and was of the Christian faith.  He was very grounded in his faith and his love of the Lord Jesus.  Michael touched so many lives and was joyful and loving in times of sorrow.  He was a loving husband, awesome father and a wonderful giving and loving person.  He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Bates.

Michael is survived by his loving wife of 18 years together, Joanna Militello-Bates; sons, Michael and Andrew Bates; brothers, Rodney and Randall Bates; aunt and uncle, Tara and Steve Bodie.

A memorial service will be held at 5:59pm on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Dr. Tim McDaniel officiating.
