Michael Rowland Gorman

Michael “Mike” R. Gorman went home to Jesus on March 19, 2020 at age 62.  

Mike was born to Rowland and Carol Joy Gorman on December 6, 1957 in Mesa, California.  As a child, he was gentle, kind, intelligent and loved his family. He and his two sisters remained close throughout their lives. He enjoyed the out of doors and learned his love of fishing from his dad during the many family vacations camping.  Mike liked to cook and made a delicious apple pie that his niece Natasha looked forward to on Thanksgiving. He was a good son, brother and friend. 

Mike met his wife, Rosalie Gorman, in 1981 while serving in the Philippines with the US Navy. They married and went on to have one child, Micheal Mendoza Gorman.  In 1990, they moved their family to Fleming Island, Florida. 

In addition to being a dedicated and loving father, Mike was a retired US Navy veteran. He also retired from his second career at Coca Cola.  He loved working with his hands in his shop, painting pictures and tending to his koi pond.  Mike was an avid Jacksonville Jaguars fan and could recite stats in a moment's notice.  Mike held an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with those who surrounded him, including serving in the prison ministry. 

Mike joins his mother, Carol Gorman, and his sister, Melynda (Mo) Joy Buglio in Heaven.  He is survived by his wife, Rose Gorman; his daughter, Micheal Rutland (Stuart); granddaughter, Angie; his father, Rowland Gorman and his sister, Lovii Arora.

Interment at Jacksonville National Cemetery with military honors will take place at a later date.
