Michael "Mike" Brookins

Michael “Mike” Brookins, 67, of Fleming Island, FL, passed away April 1, 2018.  He was born on May 10, 1950 in Jacksonville, FL to the late Leo and Robbie (McCauley) Brookins.  Mike graduated from Lee High School in 1968 and he loved the ladies and was a big flirt. He loved to grocery shop, fish, watch movies, spend time on the water and go to museums.  Mike was a huge Florida Gator fan and really loved Ducks Unlimited.  He will be remembered for his contagious laugh, being a gentleman and a scholar, his duck decoys and his love of nature, especially the orange groves.  Mike is survived by his brother, Steve Brookins of Fleming Island, FL; step-children, Michael Ryan Bruton and Jeanna Bruton; niece, Kelly Brookins; great-niece, Eden and many beloved cousins and friends.
