Milford "Jay" Oakes

Milford G. Oakes, Jr., 78, of Middleburg, FL passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2020.  “Jay” was born to Milford Sr. and Isabel Oakes on October 21, 1942 in Portland, Maine.  Jay proudly served in the United States Army for two tours in Vietnam.  He belonged to the American Legion Post 250 and was a life member of the VFW Post 8255.  He was married to Nancy Oakes, who preceded him in death on March 20, 2019.  He was also preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Skip Oakes; his sisters, Barbara Duncun and Pat Harris along with his stepdaughter, Melanie Kramer.

Jay is survived by his sons, Shaun, George and Shane; stepchildren, Jamie and Ryan; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews including a special niece and caregiver, Pam Belt.  A memorial service will take place at a later date.
