Misty D Thaxton

Misty Thaxton was survived by her husband, Douglas Thaxton; two daughters, Ashley and Dainyell Thaxton; son-in-law, Brandon Edwards; and granddaughter, Lilly Rose. She grew up in Jacksonville, FL with her granny Rosa-nell Roberts. She loved softball, when she was younger she played on the “Outlaws” softball team and was one hell of a player. After school she moved to Brannonfield Road back when it was just a long bumpy road and met many close friends to grow with through the years and was soon introduced to her husband Doug Thaxton. She met many close friends on that long road that turned into a lifetime of memories and friendships. She married her best friend on July 22, a beautiful marriage of 32 years. They had two beautiful girls together and family was everything. They loved to go on vacations in St. Augustine. Her favorite thing ever was to go crabbing at Guana with Doug. She would look like a kid in a candy shop pulling up that crab line with one hand ready to swipe the net with the other. We held crab boils every other weekend with friends and family because Misty was just that good!

She fought hard for a lot of years over many obstacles in her life but one thing for sure, she wasn’t going down without a fight. Now she has fought so hard we must let her rest. She will rejoice in Heaven with her granny, mom Janice, sister Debby, cousin Jennifer, dad Butch, and mother-in-law Dru.

Misty loved spending time with her grandbaby Lilly Rose. Lilly was her everything, they spent every day together playing and learning, she even got Lilly into liking her TV crush Paully D. Daughter Ashley would come in from work and all Lilly would want to do is tell mommy how much fun she had with nanny when you respond with “is that right” they would both yell “yeah buddy!”. They were inseparable, the best of friends.

A memorial service will be held 3:00 pm, Tuesday, September 7, 2021 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Dr. Tim McDaniel officiating.
