Muriel Anne Mabry

Muriel Anne Mabry, 87, was called to her heavenly home on Saturday, February 25, 2023.

Born in Newport Rhode Island on May 9, 1935, she lived in Middleburg, Florida.  She graduated from Rogers High School in Newport.

Muriel is survived by her two daughters; Dian Mullis (Jeff) and Terri Mabry; two granddaughters Melissa Stamey (Kermit), Megan Bowers (Andy) and one grandson William Mabry (Eleasa); two great granddaughters  Kaelynn Mabry and Marlee Stamey, and two great grandsons Kaleb Stamey and Boone Bowers;  and one brother William “Billy” Menzi, Jr.

Muriel is preceded in death by her parents, William and Marjorie Menzi, sister Joan Ballinger and husband Clyde Mabry Jr.

Muriel as a young lady worked at the Milepost in Rhode Island.  At the age of 18 she married Clyde and moved to Chesapeake, Virginia. They were together for 53 years until his passing.  Ten years after she married Clyde she became a stay at home mom which she exceled at.   As a family there was many camping trips and travels to see extended family that was spread out from Rhode Island to California.  Later in life her journey would take her from Virginia to Florida.  Once in Florida she worked at the Country Peddler and Winn Dixie bakery.

She was also known to many as “Honey” which was an enduring name called by Clyde until her grandson William would hear it at a very young age and the name would continue for the rest of her life.

Her hobbies consisted of baking, crocheting, sewing, flower gardening and reading.  She also loved her family and to just sit and visit with friends and neighbors. Her love of baking was shown at the yearly church bazar, the smell of homemade cookies when her girls arrived home from school and many cakes including ones used for fundraisers at the VFW in Middleburg. Her love of reading and life lessons gave her a wealth of knowledge and the perfect one to call with an answer to a question.

A home going service will be held at Middleburg United Methodist Church March 18^th, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.  3925 Main Street Middleburg Florida.  Followed by fellowship.
