Nadine V. Stable

May 20, 1928 — February 6, 2022

Nadine Virginia Stable, age 93, of Green Cove Springs, Florida, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, February 6, 2022. Nadine was born and raised in Ravencliff, Wyoming County, West Virginia. She was of the Pentecostal faith. While living in WV, she worked toward setting up a church fellowship in McGraws, WV. She made delicious marshmallow fudge and went house to house selling the fudge to raise funds for church expenses.

Nadine was preceded in death by her parents, Jim Dimitria Sinecoff and Bessie May (Kinzer) Sinecoff; her former husband, Homer E. Stable, Jr.; her brothers, Jimmie George, Toney Sinecoff, Ronald Sinecoff and her sisters, Rita Mullins and Diane Tilley.

Nadine is survived by her son, Charles Everett Stable, Sr. (Mary Lou), of Green Cove Springs, Florida and four grandchildren: Charles E. Stable, Jr., Jessica Willis, Jennifer Darnell (Montie), Billy Stable, and six great-grandchildren. Nadine is also survived by siblings: Mairlyn Brooks, of Sabine, WV; Rudolph Sinecoff, of Ravencliff, WV; Arkie D. Sinecoff, of Lusby, Maryland; and Fairley S. Deel (Edmond), of Green Cove Springs, Florida.

Nadine was a beloved sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She spent most of her life loving and serving Jesus, her Lord and Savior. She always encouraged her siblings to pray and live for Jesus. She was a fine lady of integrity, loyalty, caring and thoughtfulness. She had a big heart full of love for her entire family. She was given the name “Big Love” by her granddaughter Jennifer, who Nadine called her “Little Love.” Nadine had some musical talents, writing songs, playing a guitar and singing in church. She was a leader of a youth band in her teens. In her early years, Nadine liked to dance and bowl. She was part of a bowling league. Nadine was very fair to look at with long black hair and green eyes. She said she had twenty proposals of marriage when she was in her twenties. At the age of 17, she fell deep in love with a young man named Eugene “Gene”, but he was drafted into the service during WWII. When he returned from war three years later, Gene married another woman. Some time afterward, Nadine moved to Ohio and worked in a factory. She met Homer E. Stable (known as “Junior”) in Ohio and married him at the age of 28. Their son Chuck was born when she was 29 years of age. However, the marriage was dissolved when Chuck was a little baby. The winters were too cold for Nadine in Ohio, so she and her son moved back to West Virginia for a few years. In February 1963, they moved to Florida. Nadine worked at the Burlington Yarn Company in Green Cove Springs until the factory closed. That was the end of her working career. She became disabled and started receiving a disability check. Nadine never remarried. Her life was difficult, but she did the best she could do in raising her son and taking care of her grandchildren, when necessary. A great lady has left us, but Heaven has gained a beautiful soul.

The family will receive friends from 10:00am to 11:00am on Saturday, February 12, 2022 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel.  Funeral services will start at 11:00am with Reverend Joe Barrie officiating and burial will follow in Penney Farms Cemetery.
