Nancy Eleanor Banks, affectionately known by many as "Granny", was born in Yelvington, Florida to Ester and Jesse Yelvington on February 26, 1936, passed away peacefully at her home with the helping hands and support of Community Hospice on November 7, 2021. Throughout her life she was loved by many, traveled many areas of the world and had her hobbies that she loved so much. Nancy loved to cook and have large family gatherings, sewing, playing her Baritone, avid Hunter and a tenacious fisher.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband and father of her 5 children, James Howard Tomlinson, Sr. Also preceded in death by her husband of many years, James “Floyd” Banks Sr. and 2 children, Charlotte Lynn and James H. Tomlinson, Jr.
At the time of her passing, Nancy is survived by her children, Sharon Arsenault, Elizabeth Perry and Lenny (Shawn) Tomlinson. 14 Grandchildren: Kerry, Elaine, Meghan, Justin, Jessica, Matthew, Miranda, Levi, Jared, Katye, Tyler, Corey, Dylan and Morgan. Also 16 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Thursday, November 11, 2021 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel. Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Friday, November 12, 2021 at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Glenn Tillis officiating. Graveside service to follow at Decoy Cemetery.
