“Weeping may endureth for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” Psalms 30: 5
Nicholas Michael Riordan, affectionately known as “Nick” was born to Diane and Michael Riordan on June 7, 1990, in Worcester, Massachusetts.
Nick graduated from Orange Park High School, and the University of North Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in Finance.
Nick worked at Merrill Lynch Bank of America as an analyst for the past seven years, displaying a wonderful knack for solving problems.
Nick truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures: he enjoyed football, golf, spending time with friends and family, and helping all in need. Nick was full of life, had a gregarious personality, and an infectious smile that could light up any room.
As a devoted son, brother, and friend, Nick’s family paid tribute to him: “Nick was one of the kindest people you could ever meet, he opened his heart and his home to many people over the years and he will be sorely missed.” Nick had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way.
Nick’s sudden death, a life of so much accomplishment and promise—was completely unexpected and shocked everyone who knew him.
Since Nick’s death, many have written about how special he was and how fortunate they were to have known him.
They recall how Nick was a leader, mentor, and role model.
They admire how Nick built connections with people wherever he traveled
They marvel at Nick’s knowledge and remarkable talent to make any one laugh, no matter the circumstance.
They reminisce about Nick’s ever-present smile and the warmth, depth and intelligence behind it.
Nick had so much goodness, so much capacity to bring happiness to others and such a bright future. The world is a lesser place without him.
Those who knew Nick, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives. Nick leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Diane Riordan of Neptune Beach, father Michael Riordan of Jacksonville, FL, sisters, Brittany and Emily Riordan, of Jacksonville, FL, and a host of family and friends.
Although the memories of death bring the weight of pain, we the family are grateful because his past we now own.
