Norman A. Hall

March 1, 1931 — January 2, 2018

Green Cove Springs, FL — Norman A. Hall, 86, passed away Tuesday, January 2nd, 2018 at the Pavilion for Health Care in Penny Farms Florida following a brief illness.

He leaves his wife of 62 years, Gladys (Risley) Hall; His sons, Jeffrey Hall, Kenneth Hall, Steven Hall and Clifford Hall; His daughters Vicki Gee, Linda Hall, Cindy VanLeuven and JoAnn Meyer; Thirteen grandchildren; Seventeen great-grandchildren; Five great-great grandchildren; and many close friends.

Born and raised in Brewer Maine, the son of Harold and Olive Hazel (King) Hall.

In his early years, Mr. Hall worked at the Howard family farm in Orrington Maine and attended the Orrington Center Methodist Church and Brewer High School. Leaving Maine in 1954 he moved to Connecticut where he met his wife, Gladys Risley, at the Crystal Lake Ballroom. In 1958 he graduated from Wentworth Institute of Boston and began a lifelong career in the HVAC field. In 1966, Mr. Hall founded New England Mechanical Services Inc. Twenty-eight years later when he retired, the company, with humble beginnings in the basement of the Hall’s family home, had grown to over 250 employees in four locations.  

Mr. Hall was active for over 20 years in the Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce. He was a faithful servant in the Gideons International for 37 years; served on the board of Community Baptist Church, Manchester, CT and was a benefactor to his beloved Orrington Center Church. Norman was a member at Black Pond Baptist Church in Middleburg, FL

Norman had a loving, kind and patient nature; and has been a teacher and mentor to many, especially in matters of faith in the Lord.  Over the years he enjoyed flying, boating, and motorcycling. He loved the outdoors including hikes and canoe excursions.  A great man has gone to his reward! While grieving his passing, his family rejoices that he has gone to be with the Lord and to be reunited with loved ones that went before.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Black Pond Baptist Church with Reverend Charlie Hunt officiating.  Interment will be held at a later date in Machiasport, Maine.
