Opal M. LeFever of Green Cove Springs, Florida went to be with the Lord on April 25, 2023 in her home surrounded by her family.
Opal was born on April 2, 1935 in Daugherty, Oklahoma to Ruben Lathre Cromer and Dovie Christene Wallace Cromer. She had 5 siblings who have proceeded her in death. Opal was married to TSgt. Leland LeFever for 61 years and is survived by 3 children, Carrie McCutcheon (Fred), Ricky LeFever, and Dianna Bailey (Ed). She was blessed in life with 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren.
Opal had a varied and successful career as a hairstylist, overhead crane operator and secretary for the State of Florida. She enjoyed playing cards, participating in outdoor activities, reading, crossword puzzles, traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She was an active member of First Black Creek Baptist Church in Green Cove Springs, Florida.
The Celebration of Life will be held on May 1, 2023 at First Black Creek Baptist Church, 3904 State Road 16, Penney Farms, FL 32043. Family will be holding a private vigil from 2-3pm. Friends and members of the community are welcome from 3-4pm. Services will begin promptly at 4:00p.m. Following the service, Opal will be laid to rest at Penney Farms Cemetery, 3190 State Road 16, Penney Farms, FL 32043.
