Patricia Agnes Carpenter, 65, left this life to be with our Lord on November 25, 2017. She was born in Hoboken, New Jersey on February 12, 1952 to Agnes and Daniel Hannagan. She is now residing in Heaven with her parents, husband Tracy, sister Marguerite Higgins, brothers Thomas Hannagan and Daniel Hannagan, niece Christine Higgins and best friend/adopted sister Bernice Wright. She is survived by her daughter Christine Marguerite Carpenter, grandson Sean Michael Carpenter, niece Gwyneth Hannagan, nephews Daniel Hannagan, Michael Higgins, Marty Higgins, and many close adopted family and friends. She moved to Green Cove Springs in the late 1970's with Tracy Carpenter, whom she married a few years later. She had spent several years employed as a nurse aboard cruise ships and was a nurse at Clay Memorial Hospital for some years after moving here. She was a charter member of the local Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #4505, and a member of the Hoboken chapter of Loyal Order of Elks Lodge #74. Her years aboard the cruise ships fostered her love of travel and she had recently visited St. Maarten. She made a great number of friends here and remained close with her childhood friends up north. She truly loved them all and she was happiest spending time talking and socializing with every one of them Her occupation as a nurse stayed with into her retirement as she was always trying to take care of her friends and help them any way she could. She was known as "The most REAL person anyone knew", and offered her friends honest straight-forward advice. She was an awesome mother, and grandmother, and thoroughly enjoyed the time spent with her daughter and grandson. Even though she is no longer with us, she leaves her family and friends with many wonderful and loving memories. Memorial services will be held in her honor at 1:00 pm, Saturday, December 9, 2017 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Fr. Michael Pendergraft officiating.
