Patricia Lamar Sweat

Patricia Lamar Sweat, 79 passed away on December 20, 2019. Patricia, known by most as Patty, was born on September 3, 1940 in Washington DC. Daughter to Robert Sherman House and Phyllis Knight Murray. She was the eldest sister to Jackie Sanders, Robert House Jr., and Tina House.

She made Jacksonville, Florida her home in 1964 where she worked as a Legal Secretary for the US. Attorney’s Office while raising 4 children as a single parent. Later she met the love of her life, Richard M. Sweat & their union added two more children to the family. After more than 20 years with the U.S. Attorney’s Office she retired and enjoyed being a stay at home mom and spending more time in the ministry work she loved so much.

Patty was a dedicated Jehovah’s Witness and her service to her Heavenly Father was a big part of her life. She was privileged to serve in missionary work for several years later in her retirement. She enjoyed traveling, painting, sewing and spending time with family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father & mother, Robert & Phyllis House, sister, Tina House, husband Richard Sweat and great-grandson Jeremiah Turner.

Patricia is survived by her children: Cathy Riker (Tracy), Carrie Scott, Janice Signorile, Paul Sweat (Chaya), David Sweat and Jenny Sweat; grandchildren: Kenneth Riker, David Riker, Kira Kresier, Timothy Holden (Stephanie), Kristen Petrie (Darryl), Chere’ Lee (Joel), Nicholas Signorile (Ti’jana), Sebastian Sweat, Alyse Sweat, Seth Sweat, Ethan Sweat-Rakonczay; and great grandchildren: Ariana Sherman, Landon Phillips, Victor Lee and Donavon Petrie.

A memorial service will be held on January 4, 2020 at 2:00 pm at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses located at 2001 Old Middleburg Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32210.
