Paul Lutzen

Paul Lutzen 76, of Orange Park, FL passed away on October 23, 2022, after a long battle with a debilitating illness. Paul was born on September 16, 1946, to parents Herman and Ruby Lutzen in Jacksonville, FL. Growing up in the Riverview neighborhood of Jacksonville, Paul attended Ribault High School. After Graduation in 1964, Paul joined the United States Navy Reserve squadron at NAS Jax.

He attended St. Johns River College, Class of 1966. In 1968 is when he was hired by the city of Jacksonville Fire/Rescue Department where he would work for 35 years. He retired in 2003 at the rank of Lieutenant. During his time on the Fire Department, he also was an EMT/Paramedic instructor at FJC and later FCCJ.

His interests were many, Nascar, Gator Football, Motorcycles, and spending time with friends (retirees) telling stories about the Fire service.

Paul is survived by his loving wife and caregiver Diane Lutzen; Sons, Raymond, Jason, and David; Daughter-in-laws, Pam and Stephanie Lutzen and Grandchildren, Pierce and Reagan Lutzen.

A grave side service will be held at a later date. Donations can be made to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer’s Association.
