Peggy L. Bayes

Peggy L Bayes, 67, departed from this life on Monday, February 24, 2020. She was born on October 21, 1952 in Charleston, WV to Lindsey and Phyllis Nunn. She is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Duke Bayes and her father, Lindsey Nunn. She is survived by her sons, Brad Bayes and his wife Jodi; Derek Bayes and his wife April; three grandchildren, Katy, Alison, and Autumn; her mother, Phyllis Nunn; her sisters, Nancy Crawford and her husband, Chuck; Donna Sowards; her brother, Stephen Nunn and his wife, Pat.

Peggy graduated from Duval High School and then wore many hats in her lifetime. She worked for the Bell Systems, worked as an administrative assistant, but the job she was most proud of was being a Realtor. She was first and foremost, a Christian. She was an amazing Wife, Mother, Mimi and friend.

Peggy enjoyed reading, working around the house, and decorating. She had a special eye for putting things together. She loved her family dearly and will be missed tremendously!

There will be a visitation from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, March 5, 2020 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM, Friday, March 6, 2020 at Jacksonville National Cemetery with Dr. David McDonald officiating.
