Peggy Louise (Farnhum) Rivers, age 87, of Tompkinsville, Kentucky, passed away Monday, May 16, 2022, at Monroe County Medical Center. Peggy was born on April 20, 1935, the daughter of the late Charles and Willie (Eldridge) Farnhum. She retired in 1997 from a nursing facility as a Dietary Manager and love to fish, crochet, and go shopping.
She is survived by her children Bobby Rivers of Green Cove Springs, Florida, Eugene Rivers and Pat Scearce both of Tompkinsville, Jeanetta Hall, and Jeanine Rivers both of Orange Park, Florida, Donna Ingram of Tompkinsville, Denise Moody and husband Phillip and Richard Rivers both of Green Cove Springs, Florida; one half-brother Charles Farnhum and wife Gail of Jacksonville, Florida; 21 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren also survive.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, the father of her children, Eugene Rivers; one son, Michael Rivers; four grandchildren, Robert Scearce, Shawn, and William Francis, and Joey Rivers; half-sister, Susan Howell; two brothers, Red and Frank Farnhum.
The family will receive friends from 9:30am to 11:00am on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, in the Broadus-Raines Chapel. Funeral services will start at 11:00am, the same day, with Reverend Ronnie Surrency officiating and burial will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery.
