Philip Reagan Haynes

Philip Reagan Haynes, a vibrant soul born on September 1, 2004, in Orange Park, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on November 24, 2024, in Tallahassee, Florida. He was a bright light to all who knew him, and his contagious energy will live on through the lives he touched.

Philip was a junior at Florida State University, where he was pursuing a degree in business marketing. He graduated from Fleming Island High School in 2022.

Philip loved playing sports, especially baseball, lacrosse, golf, gymnastics, basketball and wrestling. His determination and competitive spirit inspired those around him. He was also a self-taught musician, effortlessly playing the keyboard, drums and guitar. He had a natural ability to make music in any music medium he explored.

Philip's personality was as magnetic as his crystal blue eyes and curly red (“it’s orange!”) hair. He radiated positivity and saw the good in everyone. A loyal friend, he listened with genuine interest and respect, making everyone feel valued and appreciated. His infectious laughter and prankster nature often transformed ordinary moments into fond memories, especially through photo and video content that celebrated his friends' escapades.

Philip is preceded in death by his brother, Reagan Christopher Haynes, his grandfathers, Richard Haynes and Don Bethancourt, and his aunt, Rebecca Hill Leising.

Philip is survived by his loving parents, Jack Randall Haynes (Roberta Jones) and Karen Bethancourt Haynes (Christopher Watson), and his siblings, Patrick Reagan Haynes and Anabelle Grace Haynes. He also leaves behind his grandmothers, Sheila Hill and Kaye Bethancourt; his aunts and uncles, Jacinda Haynes (George Suhr), Alan (Lisa) Bethancourt, David Bethancourt, and Matthew Leising; and his beloved cousins, Abigail, Robert, & Jonathan Suhr, Zachary, Andrew, & Molly Bethancourt, and Noah & Nathaniel Leising.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024, from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM in the Broadus-Raines Funeral Home Chapel in Green Cove Springs, FL, with the Reverend Richard D. Burke officiating.

Philip Reagan Haynes will forever be remembered for his unwavering kindness, lively spirit, and genuine warmth he brought into the lives of those fortunate enough to know him. He rests in peace.

In lieu of flowers, we have been discussing setting up a foundation in his memory for local High School students or affiliated with something he loved - stay tuned in the coming weeks.
