Phyllis Jane Forrest, 83, died the 17th of January 2020 peacefully at her home in Green Cove Springs, Florida. The family will receive guests Wednesday January 22nd at Broadus-Raines Funeral Home from 6pm-8pm. A Funeral Mass on Thursday January 23rd at 11am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A reception will be served after mass in Sullivan Hall. Phyllis will be laid to rest at 2pm in the Jacksonville National Cemetery.
Phyllis Forrest was born on May 2, 1936 in Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania to William and Sophia Randolph. Phyllis graduated from Mt Pleasant high school in 1954. Phyllis met the love of her life Thomas Forrest there and they married March 31, 1955. Thomas and Phyllis would have been married for 65 wonderful years, they loved to travel the world, with some of their favorite destinations to include The Greek Isle’s, Turkey, Greece, England, Rome and Hawaii.
She is survived by her husband Thomas Forrest and leaves behind her son Jeffrey Forrest his wife Dawn, and Phyllis’s two grandchildren Parker Forrest, 17years old a Senior at Clay High School and Taylor Forrest, 14 years old a Freshman at Fleming Island High School.
Phyllis will be fondly remembered by family and friends for her devotion to her family as a loving wife & grandmother, a great lover of dogs and a devoted Catholic. She enjoyed playing Tennis and golf and loved traveling the United States & Canada in their RV. Most recently she enjoyed being a member of the Red Hat Lady’s.
