Ralph Edward Galbreath

Ralph Edward Galbreath, 92, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away on December 30, 2023.

He was born in Birmingham, AL to Marie and Walter Galbreath. He grew up around Ashville, AL, graduating from Ashville High School in 1950. He joined the military, which led to many travels including Alaska.

Ralph met the love of his life, Jackie after returning home from serving in the military. They eventually moved to Florida where they had 2 girls - Susan and Glenda. In 2023, Ralph and Jackie celebrated 68 years of marriage.

After moving to Florida, they settled in Green Cove Springs. Both accepted Jesus as their Savior at a local revival and never looked back. They found a church family and community in which they served faithfully. Ralph has served in many capacities at Green Cove Springs Congregational Holiness Church - from being church treasurer for over 50 years, teaching Sunday School to being a runner for Jackie at the many cooking occasions and events.

Though he loved fishing, gardening, and tinkering, Ralph loved being “Pa.” He treasured his time with his grandkids and great grandkids.

Ralph will always be remembered for his humor and the way that he loved to make people smile and laugh. We will miss his infectious laugh. His memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him.

Ralph was preceded in death by his mother and father and 2 sisters and is survived by  his wife, Jackie; daughters Susan Whitson, Glenda Pearce (Earl), grandchildren Angela (Shane), Kimberly (Lance), Gregory (Ashton), Kristi, Emily (Jacob) Alice (Buck) , Lindsey (Jeffery) Rebecca (David) and 16 great-grandchildren and one great great grandson.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Congregational Holiness Church.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 5, 2024 at Congregational Holiness Church with Pastor Ronnie Surrency officiating.  Burial will follow in Penney Farms Cemetery.
