Raymond George Hale, Jr, 91, of Green Cove Springs, passed away March 26, 2022, surrounded by family. He was born January 2, 1931, in West Monroe, La to the late Raymond George and Alma (Traylor) Hale. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War winning several military citations. He worked as an Instrument Mechanic at St. Regis Paper company for 57+ years. He is predeceased by the love of his life of 64 years Virginia S. Hale. He loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and most of all taking care of his land in Lake Asbury. He was a Master Mason of 69+years, Cabul Lodge 116 in GCS, he was past president of Clay County Shrine Club and IBEW Local Union. Survivors include sons, Tommy Hale of Fernandina Beach, FL, Jimmy Hale (Missie) of Middleburg, FL, Sid Hale of Fernandina Beach, FL and Wesley Hale (Jackie) of Florahome, FL; daughter, Carole Hale Gardner (Mickey) of Middleburg, FL; sister, Evelyn Arnold of Lebanon, Oregon; 10 grandchildren 16 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am Tuesday, April 5, 2022 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am with Dr. Tim McDaniel officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to Community Hospice of NE Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32257.
