Reagan Brandi Burkhardt

Reagan Burkhardt, age 47, of Jacksonville Florida, gained her wings on December 19, 2022, after a courageous 7-year battle with cancer. Reagan was born January 8, 1975, to loving parents John Burkhardt and Donna Edelen in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Reagan was a graduate of Middleburg High School, Class of 1994. She enjoyed participating in the Special Olympics. Reagan held many jobs in her lifetime: Food Lion, Publix, and Winn Dixie grocery stores, Wendy’s, Challenge Enterprises, and BASCA.

Reagan enjoyed puzzles, crafts, music, dancing, traveling, going on cruises, and most of all spending time with her family. She loved that she shared a birthday with Elvis Presley. Reagan did not let cancer slow her down. She took several “bucket list trips” – a trip to Graceland, trips to Disneyworld, a trip to Wahlburger’s in Orlando, trips to Hilton Head South Carolina, a trip to New Orleans, and a several cruises.

Reagan was kindhearted and brought joy to every room she entered.  She had an amazing sense of humor and kept her family in stitches. She truly inspired us all.  Her family deeply loved and admired her, and she will be dearly missed.

Reagan was preceded in death by her father John Burkhardt; grandparents James and Carrie Burkhardt; and Calvin and Elizabeth Blansit.

Reagan is survived by her stepfather and mother, James Edelen Sr. and Donna Edelen; sisters Holly Hodges, Kaylen Paredes (Johnathan), and Dana Burkhardt; stepbrother James Edelen, Jr.; nieces Kennedy Paredes, Hope Tibbitt, and Olivia Loner; nephews Austin (Christian) and Matthew Edelen, John Paredes, and Gideon and Calvin Loner; great nephew Waylon Edelen; aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Reagan’s family would like to thank the staff at Life Care Center of Wells Crossing and Community Hospice of Northeast Florida for taking such good care of her.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, March 18, 2023, in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Reverend Daniel Howard officiating.
