Richard Kelly Foster

July 20, 1939 — February 10, 2020

Richard Kelly “Rick” Foster passed peacefully on January 10, 2020 at the age of 80.  He was born to Elizabeth Elmore and James Edmund Foster in Bramwell, West Virginia on July 20, 1939.  He graduated from Hamilton High School, Trenton, New Jersey.

A patriotic American, Rick served in the U.S. Navy and in the Army National Guard Reserves.  He was a talented upholster specializing in aircraft, marine and automobiles.  He was a lifelong fan of fast cars enjoying NASCAR races with friends and family.  Rick will be remembered for his service, love of animals and country music.  His sense of humor was irrepressible.  All that survive him have a catalogue of tales to pass along.

He is preceded in death by his Mother, Elizabeth Elmore Wyner; Father, James Edmund Foster; and Sisters Louise Candelori and Judy Wilhelm.  He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Priscilla Foster; Son, Richard K. Foster Jr. (Xinia Foster); Daughter, Linda Harrington (Jim Harrington); Grandchildren, Carolyne Foster and Peter Foster; Sisters, Emily Young, Barbara Cokeley, and Beverly Polous (Cornelius Polous); and many nieces and nephews.

A private celebration of life will be held on March 9, 2020.  In lieu of flower, donations in Rick’s name may be made to Hope for the Warriors (hopeforthewarriors.org) 8003 Forbes Place, Suite 201, Springfield, VA 22151
