Richard Glen Littleton

July 29, 1931 — December 23, 2019

Richard Glen Littleton of Middleburg, FL passed away Monday, 12/23/19, at the age of 88. Born to Hester Meek Littleton and Onas G. Littleton on July 29, 1931 in Hardesty, OK. Graduated from Perryton High School in Perryton, TX in 1948. Served 4 years in the USAF as a S/Sgt Radar Tech Mechanic at Caswell Air Force Station, Limestone, ME from 1951 - 1954. Married to Lyda Harnish Kappel on 8/6/66, in Perryton, TX. Retired from Verizon Telephone Company in Island falls, ME after 35 years of working for various telephone companies as a switchman. Member of the Middleburg First Baptist Church.

Richard was known to make a mean pot of chili and delicious pork and sauerkraut cooked in the pressure cooker. Many a Saturday afternoon you could find him watching the only college football team he liked, Notre Dame, Saturday night yelling “Score!” as he watched hockey on TV, and Sunday afternoons watching the Dallas Cowboys. Every morning the Bangor, ME country music station was playing on the radio with Richard listening intently and sometimes singing along. He loved music! Every night the TV was turned to the 6:00 local news and 6:30 evening news. Every Saturday night the family would sit in the livingroom gathered around the TV to watch the Grand Ole Oprey, Lawrence Welk, and Hee Haw. Sunday nights the family watched Wonderful World of Disney and 60 Minutes. Great times and beautiful memories!

Richard is survived by his wife, Lyda, of 53 years; daughters, Debra J. Littleton, Rolinda L. Braccio and husband Domenic Braccio, and Rhonda C. McVey; grandchildren, Glen P. Littleton, Morgan R.
