Richard Lofton Mauldin peacefully passed at age 70 on August 14, 2017 at his home, surrounded by family. The son of Ruth and Cornealious Mauldin, he was born in Jacksonville, Florida on November 14, 1946. Richard graduated from N.B. Forrest High School in Jacksonville, Florida. After honorable service in the United States Air Force as a Sargent, he had a successful career as a skilled carpenter and later as a State of Florida General Contractor and was a proud Master Mason at the Wesconnett Lodge #297 of the Free and Accepted Masons. Richard will be remembered and cherished by all for his greatest achievements as a loveable husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, his children, Michelle Mauldin-Stewart, Renee Smith, and Robert Mauldin, two brothers, Patrick Mauldin, Jack Mauldin, and a sister, Nina Coleman; as well as six wonderful grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A memorial service will be held at Blanding Blvd. Baptist Church at 5005 Blanding Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32210 on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made to the Blanding Blvd. Baptist church building fund or a charity of your choice.
