Richard W. Murray Jr, age 61, Jacksonville, FL passed away, Saturday, June 20, 2020 following a strong and hard-fought battle against cancer. He retired from the Military with 21 years of service, he also retired with 19 years with the State of Florida, Department of Military Affairs. He loved playing console games, spending time with family and during his younger year’s loved playing volleyball. He will be remembered as a devoted, loving and caring husband, father, papa, brother and son. He was a man who never met a stranger but always known as a friend to everyone he met. A man who stood firm in his beliefs and never wavered or faltered from his moral compass. He was the love of his wife’s life, her best friend and everlasting partner. One of his mother’s greatest gifts and treasures. His brothers’ best friend, compassionate ear when needed, and unconditional love giver. His sons Hero, mentor and role model. His daughter’s Protector and confidant. His Grandkids greatest example of true strength and courage.
He is survived by his mother, Ruth Murray; brothers, Bill and Mark Murray; his wife, Andree Murray; children, Justin (Laura) Murray, Dustin (Alexia) Murray, Nicole (Stonee) Snelgrove, and Jacob (Jia) Murray, and his grandchildren Alannah and Tripp.
Memorial service will be held on Friday, June 26, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Bro. Scott Crook officiating. In lieu of flowers we are asking that any donations be sent to Andree Murray by Venmo @AndreeMurray, cards may also be mailed to Andree Murray, 7331 Greenway Drive, Jacksonville, FL 32244.
