Robert Charles Apple, (“Chuck” as he was known to most people), was born on July 31st, 1946 in Cleveland, Ohio. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 20, 2021 at the age of 75 years old.
He grew up in East Cleveland and attended Shaw High School, where he graduated in 1963. After high school, he entered the U.S. Army, and served three years in Germany.
Chuck was an avid bowler. He learned how to keep score at only four years old. He had eight 300 series’ and one 800 series in his lifetime. He was part of the Senior Bowling on Monday’s and Friday’s. While bowling was his passion, he was also a DJ for many while living in Ohio.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 41 years, Florence Elizabeth “Beth” Apple, and his son, Robert Charles Apple, II. He has two children from a previous marriage, Holly Suzanne, and Kevin Charles. Chuck has four granddaughters, one grandson, and one “adopted” grandson. He also has 2 great granddaughters, whom he adored, Emily Elizabeth and Olivia Rose. There are 2 other great granddaughters and a great grandson, along with a lot of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Chuck is preceded in death by his mother and father Robert D. Apple and Lois K. Remsnyder; his brother Ronald Dean; sister Roberta (Bobbie) Usternaul and her husband, Slim; father-in-law T.R. Jarnagin and mother-in-law Leona Magdalen Graham; brother-in-law T.R. Jarnagin; nephew Mark Jarnagin; and several Aunts and Uncles. He is also preceded in death by his son, David Theodore.
An interment will be at Jacksonville National Cemetery at a later date.
