Robert Edward Billetdeaux

Robert Edward Billetdeaux, known as Bob, age 83, of St Augustine, FL, concluded his earthly journey on April 2, 2024. Born to Ed and Ann (George) Billetdeaux on September 5, 1940, in Johnstown, PA, Bob was a man who lived his life with honor and dedication.

Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force (Security Service) from 1959 to 1962. Following his service, he embarked on a career that spanned various positions at Hennepin County Park Reserve District in Minnesota, Seney National Wildlife Refuge in Michigan, the U.S. Forest Service in California, the Bureau of Land Management in Alaska, Antarctic Inc. in Antarctica, and the National Park Service in Florida.

Bob was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church, Grace Lutheran Church, and Good Shepherd Episcopal Church. 

Bob's passions included woodworking, building, outdoor activities such as cross-country skiing, running, hiking, fishing, and canoeing, and he was also an avid sports enthusiast. He had a deep love for his pets. Most of his life he had a dog or two or three. He believed in giving back and in his earlier years was involved in organizations such as Big Brothers of America and The Lions Club International, where he made lasting contributions. He was grateful for his many friendships throughout the years and cherished his friends past and present.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Lisa Billetdeaux (nee Kirkpatrick); his sons, Jon (Jodi), Erick (Stephanie), and Darcy (Nikki); stepdaughters, Trisha (Chris), Tracy (Alan), and Tamara Travis; his sister, Georgann; and his cherished grandchildren.

Bob was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Ann Billetdeaux. His life was one of adventure, humor, and a life well lived. His memory will be treasured by all who knew him.

A gathering of friends and family to celebrate Bob's life will be held at a date to be announced. The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Bob's memory to the American Cancer Society, National Park Service, Humane Society, or PETA.
