Robert "Mike" Michael Bragg

Robert “Mike” Michael Bragg, 75, a devoted husband, a beloved daddy, and a friend to many of Middleburg, FL went home to be with his Lord on, August 27, 2021, at St. Vincent’s Clay County of complications from Covid.

He was born to Holmand “Bob” and Polly A. Bragg on June 21, 1946 in Roanoke, VA.

Mike graduated from Terry Parker High School, and he served in the Army and was a Vietnam Veteran, he was awarded the Bronzed Star. After serving his country, he became a meat cutter for Big Star until they closed. Mike began his career as a truck driver for Miller Brewing Co. and moved onto Benton Express in the early 80s. He had to medically retire in 2001 after an auto accident and by the grace of God he was able to return to work in 2015. Upon his death he was employed by DPN Transport INC owned by Doug and Paula Nall of Middleburg, FL. He was more than an employee he was a partner. He will be greatly missed. On December 13, 1969, he married the love of his life Clara Forbes Bragg.

Mike was a member of Middleburg United Methodist Church and the Stephens Ministries. Up until he became an over the road truck driver, he was a very active member of his church, dedicated his time to the food bank, Sunday School, cook, anything that was needed of him. He loved his church family.

Mike will always be remembered of his dedication and love for the Lord, he loved to read and study God’s word. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, spending time with his family and he loved his Georgia Bulldogs. He was known as the great Dawg fan of all time by everyone that knew him. Go DAWGS! Georgia football will never be the same with his family. He was hard a working family man, he loved his children, family always came first with Mike. He was a man you could depend on.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Holmand “Bob” C. Bragg and Polly A. Bragg.

He is survived by wife, Clara Bragg of Middleburg, FL; the children they shared, Ricky Bragg of Hawthorne, FL; Robby Bragg (Gloria) of Aiken, SC; Bobbie Beckum (Richard) of Statesboro, GA; Bonnie Adame’ (Ray) of Middleburg, FL; his sister, Patricia Wood of St. Augustine, FL. He was blessed with 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren: Richard, Hunter, Garett, Jennifer, Brandon, Blaze, Brooklyn, Loreal, Kalyn, Mia, Jase, Zayden, and Paizlee. His best friend, sidekick and precious dog, Georgia and many friends, nieces and nephews.

The pallbearers will be Richard Beckum, Hunter Bragg, Garett Beckum, Brandon Beckum, Blaze Heffner, and Keith Lancaster.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am - 11:00 am, Thursday, September 9, 2021 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am with Pastor Robby Merrill Bragg officiating. Graveside service to follow at 2:00pm at Jacksonville National Cemetery with military honors rendered.
