Robert “Bobby” Carney, 72, of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 7th, 2024, at his home with his family. He was born to parents Lewis Clyde and Mattie Mae Carney on June 30th, 1951, in York, Alabama. Bobby was a jack of all trades, being a construction worker, truck driver, and handyman. He was an avid deer hunter and outdoorsman. Bobby loved his family and friends, and always talked about everyone kindly. He would do anything for anybody and loved to share stories of his adventures. He loved to watch classic TV westerns in the evenings. In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Debra Carney; his brothers, Frank Carney, James Carney, and Donald Carney; and his sisters, Eva Seibs, Margie Thomas, and Flora Givens. Bobby is survived by his brothers, Melvin Carney and Richard Carney; his children, Jolene Gray and Roxanne Carney; his grandchildren, Jarrell Lestrick, Jerry Gray, Devan Carney, Robert Gray, and Quinten Brown; and many nieces and nephews. He was loved by many and cherished by many more. All his good deeds and kindness for his people will never be forgotten, and he shall be forever in our hearts. The family will receive friends at 1:00pm on Monday, May 13, 2024, in the Broadus-Raines Chapel and funeral services will begin at 2:00pm. Burial will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery.
