Robert "Bob" Louis Clark, 63, peacefully passed away early Thursday morning, May 30th, 2024 in his Green Cove Springs home with his family by his side.
Bob was born on April 18, 1961 in Alexandria, Virginia, to John and Lola Clark. He graduated early from Mount Vernon High School in 1978. In 1982 Bob met his best friend and the love of his life, Natalie. They married on January 29th, 1983 and together raised two amazing sons, Adam and Cameron.
In 1982, Bob started his career as an Air Traffic Controller for the FAA. He worked in the North Area of Jax Center, where he developed lifelong friendships with his colleagues. During his service, he earned the nickname “4.0” amongst his peers for the distinguished “Controller of the Year” award he received for preventing a mid-air collision. Bob retired after 25 years of dedicated service.
Bob had a love for all things aviation. In his early years he obtained his pilot’s license to become a small craft pilot. He found his greatest joy in sharing his love for Walt Disney World and Disney cruises with family and friends. In addition, he was an avid movie buff. Christmas was especially important for Bob as he enjoyed decorating the house and putting on a spectacle for the neighborhood. Above all else, he loved his family, and cherished the times laughing around the dinner table.
He will always be remembered for his fun-loving spirit, his unmitigated generosity, and his love for family.
Bob is preceded by his mother Lola Clark. He leaves behind his wife Natalie Clark, his children Adam Clark (Kelsey), Cameron Clark (Kaitlyn fiancé), Amy (Tomas), and Joshua, his father John Louis Clark, his brother John Michael Clark (Linda), and sister Cathy Cogley (Jerry). Bob was known as “Grandpa Duke” to his grandson Benjamin Clark. He was also anticipating another grandchild on the way.
A special debt of gratitude is extended to Bob’s loving caregivers, Nathan, Chelsea, Venus, and Judy from Haven Hospice. Their love and attention to Bob helped keep him comfortable during his final days.
