Robert D. Collins, Sr, 76, of Woodbine, GA passed away on November 28, 2020. He was born on November 4, 1944 in West Palm Beach, FL to parents Douglas Henry and Nell Horton (Castleberry) Collins. Robert served in the United States Army as Sgt. He was looked upon as top-flight, serving as a proud example to his peers. Robert served proudly and was recognized for invaluable accomplishments, dedication, and thoroughness in duty. Anyone that knew him, knew that he had a great love for the military. This was reflected in his heart to volunteer and serve as Post Sr Vice Commander in Green Cove Springs, FL at the VFW. The men and women he spent time with at the VFW were considered his family.
Robert is survived by his children, Theresa Marr of Woodbine, GA, Bobby (Wendy)Woods, Woodbine, GA, Debbie Kent, Virginia Bch, VA, Robin Collins, Jacksonville, FL, Sharon (Billy) Cabiness, Calhoun, TN and Robby Collins, Green Cove Springs, FL; 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 9:00am on Friday, December 18, 2020 at the Jacksonville National Cemetery with Robert’s son, Bobby Woods, officiating.
